English-friendly Area Churches
Once you get out of the center of Tokyo, there's a real scarcity of
organized worship and fellowship opportunities (also known as "church" :-) ) in English.
For those of you looking for some degree of English in your "worship and
fellowship opportunities" around the Nishi-Kasai
or Urayasu areas, here's a non-comprehensive list of churches with bilingual
or English-speaking meetings.
If you know of any others, please
drop us a mail. Thanks!

Disbanded February 2005. That's us. Started by two couples
remaining after the Urayasu International Christ Church's English service
disbanded, we're now a small independent fellowship of about 10 people.
We meet in
Nishi-Kasai on Sundays at 3pm for singing, bible study and prayer. There's
also a prayer meeting on Wednesday mornings near Shin-Urayasu station.
See the navigation bar for details on how to find or
contact us. |

style, but English sermon notes are available at the door. |

Steve Kaylor pastors this somewhat
charismatic Japanese church. After 45 minutes or so of singing in
Japanese, one or two sermons are simultaneously translated into English.

Ueno no Mori Church

Bilingual contemporary service lead by
Anthony Miyafuji. Not strictly in the area, it's still within reasonable
commuting distance.

Only have 3rd-hand reports about this
fellowship so I can't vouch for it, but I hear a lot of
Africans and some Disney folk go to this reputedly charismatic service. |
