Peter was martyred during Nero's reign.
Questions
Peter has just been talking about (1) the living hope of our resurrection
into the likeness of Jesus, and (2) the preciousness of our faith.
- Read the passage, and pick out key words or concepts.
- How do we prepare (lit. strip down) our minds for action?
- In v13:
- What does it mean to be sober?
- Is the world sober?
- What pressures does the world place on us that tempts us from being
sober?
- To give in to evil desires?
- In v17:
- What is the "fear" that Peter is talking about?
- Will it help if we are mentally stripped-for-action, sober, and
emotionally focused on the hope of the resurrection (v13)?
