1 Peter 5:1-14 Submission in the Church & Standing Firm
- Author: Peter the apostle, probably dictated to Silas (aka Silvanus)
- Date: early 60s, encouraging believers during persecution of Nero
(when Peter was martyred).
Peter has been telling us how to live together as the holy people of God
witnessing to His goodness and being peace-bearers in the midst of suffering for our allegiance to Christ. Now Peter closes by instructing
us on submission and humility in the fellowship, and an exhortation to stand
firm.
