age ~ a long time, like thousands of years.
anger ~ when someone is angry, they have anger.
apostle ~ a man that God chose to lead other Christians and to teach about Jesus.
armour ~ special clothes that keep soldiers safe.
baptism ~ to put a person in water to show that they want to follow Christ.
bless ~ when we say or do much good to a person.
blessing ~ a good thing that God does for us.
care ~ doing everything that we can to help someone and to make them happy.
church ~ big or small group of Christians - people who believe in Jesus.
clean ~ doing good things and thinking good thoughts.
complete ~ every part that should be there is there.
covenant ~ when people agree something together; when God and a person or people agree to a special thing.
Devil ~ another name for Satan, who is the enemy of God.
evil ~ things or people that are very bad; there is no good in them.
faith ~ when we believe in something or someone.
forgive ~ when someone stops being angry with another person who has done bad things.
Gentile ~ someone who is not a *Jew.
glory ~ everything that makes God beautiful and great. It is like a bright light that is shining round God or Jesus.
Good News ~ the good news for everybody that God saves people from *sin through Jesus Christ.
grace ~ a gift of God that we cannot buy. He gives it because he loves us.
hate ~ having no love, wanting to hurt people.
heaven(s) ~ places outside the earth where *spirits live.
holy ~ good, with nothing bad in it. Only God is really holy.
Holy Spirit ~ Godfs spirit. God gives him to every person who believes in him.
honour ~ when people see someone as great and good.
Jew ~ a person who is born from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their children; a person who has the *faith of the *Jews, called Judaism.
Jewish ~ a word that describes a *Jew or anything to do with a *Jew.
kingdom ~ where a king rules.
law ~ the rules that God gave to see Moses for the *Jews.
Lord ~ a name that we call God or Jesus; we call God or Jesus Lord when we do what they say.
lord ~ someone with authority.
mercy ~ being kind and helping a person who does wrong, to show that you love them.
Old Testament ~ the first part of the Bible, which the writers wrote before the life of Jesus.
pastor ~ person who *cares for part of Christfs *church.
peace ~ to have no trouble in our minds; when a person is not afraid or angry.
peace ~ when we have no troubles in mind or *spirit; when we are friendly to other people; when we are not fighting and we are not angry.
praise ~ when we say good things about a person.
prisoner ~ person who is in prison.
prophet ~ person who speaks for God. He can sometimes say what will happen in the future.
punish ~ to hurt someone for the wrong things that they have done. For example, a person who has robbed another person must go to prison.
righteousness ~ when God makes a person right with him; people whom God sees as clean and not as his enemies; when people do what is right.
saint ~ someone who belongs to Christ.
Scripture ~ the Bible; the *Old Testament.
shield ~ big, hard, flat thing ; a soldier holds it over himself to stop things that would hit him.
sin ~ when we do not obey the rules of God.
sinful ~ things that are against Godfs rules.
spirit ~ part of a person that decides what we do - good or bad. Our *spirit can speak to God and God can speak to our *spirit. A bad spirit is from the *Devil.
temple ~ a place where people meet to *worship God.
throne ~ seat that a king sits on; sometimes he sits there to decide if a person has done good things or bad things.
truth ~ saying what is true.
wine ~ a drink that has alcohol in it; people make it from small, sweet fruit called grapes.
wisdom ~ a person who has wisdom always knows the best thing to do.
worship ~ to love and say how good someone is; to work for them and put them first.
